Do your students need some inspiration for their choreography modules?
The Language of Dance Centre aims to provide high quality dance workshops that can be tailored to GCSE Dance, AS/A2 Dance and BTEC course requirements. We understand the importance of the choreography units in these qualifications and feel that the Language of Dance approach to movement exploration can provide your students with an invaluable choreographic tool.
- A contemporary dance warm up. Specific contemporary techniques can be requested.
- Repertoire. This can be from the workshop teachers own choreography or phrases from set works (subject to amount of notice given).
- Choreography. Using basic principles from the Movement Alphabet students will analyse the phrases learnt during the repertoire session. After breaking down the movement they will then use symbols and choreographic devices to develop their own work.
What will your pupils gain?
- Experience of contemporary dance technique
- Experience of a unique choreographic tool
- The chance to gain knowledge of dance notation in a creative, non restrictive manner
- Inspiration for their own choreography
- An information pack with more information about LOD, courses available, useful links and information about dance notation in general.
Cost
£75 for a 2 hour session (plus travel costs if the workshop takes place outside of Greater London)
