The Language of Dance Centre is an international organisation
supported by the Language of Dance Trust, a charity that focuses
on dance education, dance/movement research and dance preservation.
Our UK centre, based in the heart of London, was founded in 1967
by Dr. Ann Hutchinson Guest. A comparable centre,
Language of Dance Center Inc.,
founded in 1997, is based in the United States.
Our activities include:
- promoting and teaching Language of
Dance (LOD) to children and adults
- organising and running workshops and courses to train teachers in
the LOD approach
- providing National Curriculum support to
teachers of LOD in primary and secondary schools
- producing and publishing educational materials, as well as
Labanotation dance scores
